Tommy is the first of the two rock operas by the British rock band The Who. This was made into a fantastic film, a musical and The Who also performed it live! In 1975, the rock opera was filmed successfully. As well as the band members, many famous artists like Tina Turner and Elton John starred in the film. The actress Ann-Margret received a Golden Globe Award for her role in the film and was nominated for an Oscar.

The metaphoric story is not simple. Captain Walker is killed during the First World War before his son Tommy is born. Four years later, he turns up alive and returns home, where he is murdered by his wife’s new lover, right in front of Tommy. They convince Tommy that he didn’t see or hear the incident and must never speak of it. Tommy takes it literally and becomes deaf, dumb and blind. But years later, he is miraculously cured...
