BEHIND THE WALL
BEHIND THE WALL gaat over mensen die hun plek proberen te vinden. Over waar je je thuis voelt en wat er gebeurt als dat verandert of verdwijnt. De dansers bewegen tussen herinneringen aan vroeger en wat er nu speelt. Ze laten zien hoe het is om iets kwijt te raken en opnieuw te moeten beginnen. Wat neem je mee? Wat laat je achter? En waar hoor je eigenlijk thuis?
Het ensemble van Conny Janssen Danst brengt dit verhaal dichtbij en invoelbaar. Met krachtige bewegingen en momenten van rust laten ze zien hoe mensen zich tot elkaar verhouden; soms verbonden, soms juist op afstand.
De live muziek van Roufaida speelt hierin een grote rol. Haar stem en geluid geven extra lading aan wat er op het podium gebeurt en maken de emoties voelbaar.

BEHIND THE WALL, the large-scale new dance production and latest choreography by Conny Janssen, raises urgent questions about identity, belonging and loss. With live music by boundary-pushing artist Roufaida, an immersive journey unfolds about what it means to have a place to call home, and what happens when that home changes or disappears.
The dancers navigate a world in which memories, loss and hope are in constant motion. What happens to them? What do you carry with you from the past when you have to start over? Where are you allowed to feel at home? And how do you stay connected to where you come from?
The diverse and adventurous ensemble of Conny Janssen Danst brings this search to life with an intensity that is both moving and confrontational. With her distinctive choreographic signature, a powerful mix of raw energy and quiet poetry, Conny Janssen creates a universe in which personal stories and universal questions meet.
The live music of Dutch-Moroccan artist Roufaida forms the beating heart of the production. Her layered sound, blending North African influences, alternative pop and poetic lyrics, deepens the themes and amplifies the emotional power of the dance.
