Winged
Geïnspireerd door het fenomeen van murmuration (zwermen vogels die in perfecte harmonie door de lucht bewegen) onderzoekt de voorstelling hoe individuen zich tot elkaar verhouden binnen een groter geheel. Wanneer beweeg je mee? Wanneer wijk je af? En wat gebeurt er als vertrouwen de leidraad wordt?
Een zwerm vogels kent geen vaste hiërarchie, maar beweegt met adembenemende precisie. Richting verandert in een fractie van een seconde; het geheel reageert als één lichaam. De dansers vormen steeds wisselende constellaties. Ze stuwen elkaar vooruit, vangen elkaar op, breken uit structuren en keren terug. De spanning tussen autonomie en verbondenheid wordt fysiek voelbaar.

Zoals altijd bij Kalpanarts is muziek een stuwende kracht. Ritmische patronen, live-energie en gelaagde composities vormen een kloppend hart onder de choreografie. Indiase invloeden resoneren in hedendaagse klankwerelden, waardoor een hypnotiserende flow ontstaat waarin lichaam en geluid één worden.
Winged wordt gemaakt in coproductie met HIIIT. De samenwerking met HIIIT versterkt de fysieke en ritmische intensiteit van de voorstelling: beweging en percussie reageren direct op elkaar, als vogels die elkaars koers volgen.

In an age of growing polarisation, where individuals are increasingly pitted against one another, Winged poses an urgent question: how do you move together without losing yourself?
Inspired by the phenomenon of murmuration — flocks of birds moving through the sky in perfect harmony — the performance explores how individuals relate to one another within a greater whole. When do you move with the group? When do you diverge? And what happens when trust becomes the guiding principle?
A flock of birds has no fixed hierarchy, yet moves with breathtaking precision. Direction changes in a fraction of a second; the whole responds as a single body. The dancers form ever-shifting constellations. They propel one another forwards, catch each other, break free from structures and return. The tension between autonomy and connection becomes physically palpable.

As is always the case with Kalpanarts, music is a driving force. Rhythmic patterns, live energy, and layered compositions form a beating heart beneath the choreography. Indian influences resonate within contemporary sonic worlds, giving rise to a hypnotic flow in which body and sound become one.
Winged is made in co-production with HIIIT. The collaboration with HIIIT intensifies the physical and rhythmic energy of the performance: movement and percussion respond directly to one another, like birds following each other's course.
