Dit NDT 2-programma is een ode aan de speelsheid en de menselijkheid die onze dansers kenmerkt. A poem to the world brengt twee geliefde werken van choreograaf Edward Clug en associate choreograaf Crystal Pite samen, beide met livemuziek, naast een wereldpremière van gevierd maker Johan Inger.

We duiken in mutual comfort (2015) van Edward Clug voor NDT 2: een compact en verfijnd werk waarin verbinding, steun en subtiele humor samenkomen, met live muziek van Milko Lazar. Crystal Pites kwartet uit Kunstkamer groeide uit tot Four Solitudes, een poëtisch stuk over nabijheid en afzondering, gedragen door Schuberts pianosonate.

Daarnaast presenteert NDT 2 een wereldpremière van Johan Inger. In nauwe samenwerking met de dansers onderzoekt hij hoe beweging onze tijd en onderlinge relaties voelbaar maakt met ruimte voor individualiteit, kwetsbaarheid en het plezier van samen dansen.

We delve into mutual comfort (2015) by Edward Clug for NDT 2: a compact, refined work where connection, support and subtle humour come together, with live music by Milko Lazar. Crystal Pite’s quartet from Kunstkamer evolved into Four Solitudes, a poetic piece on closeness and solitude, set to Schubert’s piano sonata.

NDT 2 also presents a world premiere by Johan Inger. In close collaboration with the dancers, he explores how movement can express who we are today leaving space for individuality, vulnerability and the joy of dancing together.

Voorafgaand aan de voorstelling wordt er een inleiding gegeven door het gezelschap, op De Verdieping. Tijdens de inleiding krijg je meer informatie over de choreografen en het programma. De voertaal is in afwisselend Engels en Nederlands. De inleiding is inclusief een drankje (keuze uit koffie of thee, fris, pils, huiswijn). Koop je ticket vooraf.

Prior to the performance, you can join an introduction talk. This takes place at De Verdieping. During the introduction talk, you will receive more information about the choreographers and the programme. The language will alternate between English and Dutch. The introduction includes a drink (choice of coffee or tea, soft drink, beer or house wine). Buy your ticket in advance.
