Wildwood + Q&A | BUas Movie Club Selection

Just outside the city of Portland lies the Impassable Wilderness, a hidden forest inhabited by talking animals, villainous bandits and other powerful magical creatures, where human outsiders are not welcome. When Prue McKeel’s baby brother Mac is carried off into the forest by a flock of crows, she and her classmate Curtis must overcome their fears and do everything they can to bring him home safely before it is too late.

The stop-motion animated film is produced by Laika Studios (Coraline, The Boxtrolls, ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings, Missing Link) and directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings, Bumblebee).

The Q&A is with Jelle van Dun, the owner and Animation Director of Animate the World. He is an expert in stop-motion animation and live-action filmmaking.

BUas Movie Club
Movies. Conversation. Community. Welcome to the BUas Movie Club! An open and welcoming film club for everyone: BUas students, staff, and the wider community. Our international crew of students, staff, and special guests handpick film screenings, facilitate Q&As, and bring back the space for movies to unite us once again. In today's age, where streaming is taking over, it is more important than ever, to come together and talk. From hidden gems to beloved classics, we're here to watch all, and share what we love or discover about these titles.

Every last Wednesday of the month at Chasse Cinema, we curate films with English subtitles, hosted by Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) with Chasse. "Because the best movies aren't just watched—they're experienced - together."
Afterwards there will be a Q&A, organized by BUas. Please note: this event is open to everyone, including the general public.
