JDL - Behind the Wall + Q&A Judith de Leeuw

NL: Regisseuse Deborah Faraone Mennella volgde één jaar lang street artist Judith de Leeuw (JDL), tijdens haar leven in Nederland en tijdens het creatieproces ‘Love is Stronger Than Death ’in de Italiaanse stad Taranto. Op spectaculaire wijze zie je hoe de muurschildering van 30 meter tot stand komt. Meestal zijn maatschappelijke onderwerpen leidend in JDL haar ontwerpen.

Dit keer is het echter de dood van haar vader die de rode draad speelt. De in Italië geboren regisseuse Deborah Faraone Mennella kenmerkt haar werk vaker met krachtige en intieme beelden. Zo portretteerde zij eerder eveneens modeontwerpster Fong Leng en kunstenares Marte Röling. Voor (JDL) staat niet alleen de kunstvorm centraal, maar ook de boodschap achter de muurschildering.
