Youri + Q&A Producer (EN subs) | BUas Movie Club Selection

Youri tells the true story of the friendship between journalist Jan Brokken and concert pianist Youri Egorov. After fleeing the Soviet Union for the Netherlands, Egorov quickly builds an international career and wins over Amsterdam's cultural scene with his talent, charisma and free spirit.

When Brokken interviews him, a close bond forms between two men who seem to have little in common. As Egorov encourages his friend to take his writing seriously, Brokken learns how art, freedom and courage can change a life. A moving and inspiring drama about friendship, ambition and the power of personal encounters.

The Q&A is with Denis Vaslin, producer at Volya Films, the production company behind Youri.

BUas Movie Club
Movies. Conversation. Community. Welcome to the BUas Movie Club! An open and welcoming film club for everyone: BUas students, staff, and the wider community. Our international crew of students, staff, and special guests handpick film screenings, facilitate Q&As, and bring back the space for movies to unite us once again. In today's age, where streaming is taking over, it is more important than ever, to come together and talk. From hidden gems to beloved classics, we're here to watch all, and share what we love or discover about these titles.

Every last Wednesday of the month at Chasse Cinema, we curate films with English subtitles, hosted by Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) with Chasse. "Because the best movies aren't just watched—they're experienced - together."
Afterwards there will be a Q&A, organized by BUas. Please note: this event is open to everyone, including the general public.
