Na performances in Trojan Wars van het Nationale Opera en Ballet en de dansfilm Legends of the Roof neemt de crew je nu mee op reis door de complexe wereld van de mannelijke identiteit. Wat als je struggled te voldoen aan het stereotype? In deze humoristische dansvoorstelling schuurt het soms en ontstaat een safe space om te zijn wie je bent.
Echte Mannen is een multidisciplinaire theatervoorstelling met een krachtig statement over mannelijkheid in de moderne samenleving. Vooral nu in tijden van 'cancel culture' en 'calling out'. Hoewel de cancel culture al decennialang en misschien zelfs al eeuwen bestaat. Is het, mede door sociale media, vandaag de dag zichtbaarder dan ooit.
Echte Mannen gaat over de ‘veelvoud’ en ‘diversiteit’ van mannen. Het verwijst naar de urgentie van de voorstelling, namelijk dat er veel verschillende soorten mannen zijn en dat er niet slechts één definitie is van mannelijkheid.
Be Proud Weekend
Op 10, 11 en 12 oktober 2025 draait het in het Chassé Theater om jou. Tijdens Be Proud Weekend brengen we een ode aan diversiteit en inclusiviteit, staat identiteit centraal en verwelkomen we de queer community. Cancel it. Cross it out. No longer possible. Reinvent the real man. In theatre, spoken word, hip-hop dance, visuals and movement, @Class3_E shows the ‘Real man’ – with all prejudices and assumptions – a new idiosyncratic form. Afterwards, there will be an aftertalk in the Brasserie.

Echte Mannen (literally: Real Men) is a multidisciplinary theatre performance with a powerful statement about masculinity in modern society. Especially now in times of 'cancel culture' and 'calling out'. Although cancel culture has existed for decades and perhaps even centuries. It is, partly due to social media, more visible today than ever.
Echte Mannen is about the 'multiplicity' and 'diversity' of men. It refers to the urgency of the performance, namely that there are many different types of men and that there is not just one definition of masculinity.
