Samen met een team van professionele makers – van dansers en muzikanten tot freerunners, skateboarders, acrobaten en straatvoetballers – gaan de kinderen op ontdekkingsreis. Spelenderwijs maken ze kennis met verschillende vormen van podiumkunst. Ze denken mee, maken keuzes en creëren zelf mee.
Corpo Máquina werkt in de wijken. Daar ontstaan de eerste bewegingen. Van daaruit groeien ze richting het hart van de stad, waar het eindresultaat het podium krijgt in een stadstheater. Zo slaan ze bruggen tussen leefwerelden, tussen wijk en centrum, tussen straat en theater. Elke editie van dit project wordt aan een productie gekoppeld – dit keer is dat Fábrica.

Fábrica is rauw en fysiek. Een ritueel van intensiteit en transformatie. In Fábrica wil choreograaf Guilherme Miotto het podium hervormen tot een workshop van ritme en beweging. Met 3 dansers, 2 acrobaten en 2 live percussionisten bouwen we een wereld waar beweging en geluid onafscheidelijk zijn, waar elke actie resoneert en elk ritme doorvoeld wordt in het lichaam. Met percussie als kloppend hart van Fábrica, als zuurstof voor verbinding, worden lichamen instrumenten en instrumenten verlengstukken van de performers.

It Takes a Child to Raise a Village is a participatory project by Corpo Máquina Society, in which children who often have limited access to the arts are invited to take part in a creative journey that culminates in a public performance.
Together with a team of professional artists — including dancers, musicians, freerunners, skateboarders, acrobats, and street footballers — the children embark on a journey of discovery. Through play, they explore various forms of performing arts, contribute ideas, make creative choices, and help shape the final work.
Corpo Máquina works within neighborhoods — this is where the first sparks of movement are ignited. From there, the project expands toward the heart of the city, where the final performance takes place on the stage of a city theatre. In doing so, the project builds bridges between different worlds: between neighborhoods and city centers, between the street and the theatre. Each edition of It Takes a Child to Raise a Village is linked to a professional production — this time, that production is Fábrica.

Fábrica is raw, physical, and visceral — a ritual of intensity and transformation. In this piece, choreographer Guilherme Miotto reimagines the stage as a workshop of rhythm and movement. Featuring three dancers, two acrobats, and two live percussionists, Fábrica creates a world where sound and motion are inseparable, where every movement resonates and each rhythm is deeply felt in the body. With percussion as the driving force — the heartbeat of the piece — bodies become instruments, and instruments become extensions of the performers themselves.
