In Sons of the Soil vloeien beweging, muziek en tekst samen in een wereld van rituelen, herinneringen en onuitgesproken verbindingen. Twee jongens zoeken hun weg naar volwassenheid, terwijl de voorstelling ons uitnodigt om met een open blik te kijken naar de complexiteit en kwetsbaarheid van mannelijkheid.
Conny Janssen Danst
Met DANSLOKAAL presenteert Conny Janssen Danst jaarlijks talentvolle makers die samen met dansers van het Rotterdamse gezelschap een nieuw werk hebben ontwikkeld. Voor de dertiende editie van DANSLOKAAL droeg creatieve partner Dansateliers choreograaf Sheree Lenting aan: met twee dansers creëerde zij in 2025 het duet Sons of the Soil.
Skatepark
Sons of the Soil is onderdeel van het Skatepark weekend op 11 en 12 juli. Dit weekend verandert het toneel van onze grote zaal in een Skatepark. In deze voorstelling trotseren skaters en dansers de zwaartekracht met duizelingwekkende tricks en jumps. De performers verleggen de grenzen van het haalbare en gaan opzoek naar de flow: individueel, maar juist ook als gemeenschap. Rondom deze voorstelling duiken we dieper in de skateboardcultuur aan de hand van films, workshops, muziek en meer.

For the thirteenth edition of DANSLOKAAL, creative partner Dansateliers nominated choreographer Sheree Lenting: in 2025, she created the duet Sons of the Soil with two dancers.
Skatepark
Sons of the Soil is part of the Skatepark weekend on 11 and 12 July. This weekend, the stage of our main auditorium will be transformed into a Skatepark. In this performance, skaters and dancers defy gravity with dizzying tricks and jumps. The performers push the boundaries of what is possible and seek the flow: individually, but also as a community. Alongside this performance, we’ll delve deeper into skateboard culture through films, workshops, music and more.
