In de zomer van 2025 kiest graffiti-kunstenaar Niels Bakkerus ervoor om zich publiekelijk uit te spreken over Gaza. Zijn boodschap in de Eindhovense Berenkuil, “Fuck Israel, Free Palestine”, groeit uit tot een maandenlange graffiti-strijd waarin activisme, censuur en creativiteit samenkomen. Telkens wanneer zijn werk wordt overschilderd, keert hij terug met nieuwe teksten, waardoor de muur in een levend kunstwerk veranderd waarin elke laag verf het debat weerspiegelt. Piece de Résistance laat zien hoe de openbare ruimte een plek is waar controverses zichtbaar worden en hoe één kunstenaar midden in die storm zijn eigen stem probeert te behouden.

Blind Walls Film Fest
Dit is een internationaal grensverleggend festival voor liefhebbers en makers van graffiti, street art en murals. Van woensdag 4 t/m zondag 8 februari 2026 brengt een programma vol films, documentaires, Q&A’s, masterclasses en exposities de wereld van straatkunst tot leven. Bekijk hier het volledige programma.

In this program, three short films come together and show how vulnerable, powerful, and complex art in public space can be. Whether it’s Amsterdam-based makers balancing between the underground and recognition, a graffiti battle in Eindhoven that turns into a global debate, or two white flags throwing New York into complete confusion. Each story revolves around public space as a political, social, or cultural statement. These films reveal how visual language in the streets is not only a form of expression, but also a site of conflict, dialogue, resistance, and meaning-making. Several makers and artists are present for a panel discussion and are happy to answer your questions.

In the summer of 2025, Eindhoven-based artist Niels Bakkerus decides to no longer remain silent about the situation in Gaza. In bold, graphic letters, he paints the message “Fuck Israel, Free Palestine” on a wall in a legal graffiti zone in his hometown. This grows into a three-month graffiti battle in which activism, censorship and creativity come together. Every time his work disappears, he returns with a new message, which turns the wall into a living work of art in which each layer of paint reflects the debate. Piece de Résistance shows how public space is a place where controversies become visible and how one artist tries to maintain his own voice in the midst of that storm. 

This is an international, boundary-pushing festival for lovers and creators of graffiti, street art, and murals.
