Nooit voelde het overgaan van orde in chaos zo actueel. In NEGEN is die chaos fysiek voelbaar. Voor een nieuwe orde kan ontstaan, viert chaos eerst hoogtij. Het getal negen representeert chaos en heelheid tegelijk. Het is een symbool voor transformatie, voltooiing, verlichting en compassie, voor de vruchten van de Heilige Geest maar ook van obsessie en apocalyptische spanning.
In negen scenes creëert een DJ op het podium gelaagde audio en negen veranderende lichthorizons. Negen dansers bewegen als één organisme, gedreven door een ritmische motor. Bewegingspatronen verschijnen en verdwijnen weer, als instabiele evenwichten.
Een lichtstraal. De nieuwe mens. Een futuristische dageraad. Door kunstige intelligentie geordende hoop. Wat laten we achter, wat verdwijnt er met de chaos?

Andrea Leine en Harijono Roebana staan al meer dan dertig jaar aan de top van de Nederlandse dans. Hun werk staat bekend om de unieke vervlechting van disciplines en een opwindend, fysiek dansidioom. Voor hun vernieuwende bijdrage aan de danskunst ontvingen zij de prestigieuze Prijs van Verdienste van het Dansersfonds '79.

In NEGEN (nine) by LeineRoebana, resident company of Chassé Theater, nine dancers search for a new order in a world where chaos feels palpable. With a DJ on stage, a layered composition of movement, sound and light emerges, in which patterns appear and disappear again.
The shift from order to chaos has never felt so current. In NEGEN, that chaos is physically tangible. Before a new order can emerge, chaos reigns first. The number nine represents chaos and wholeness at once. It's a symbol for transformation, completion, enlightenment and compassion, for the fruits of the Holy Spirit but also for obsession and apocalyptic tension.
Across nine scenes, a DJ on stage creates layered audio and nine shifting light horizons. Nine dancers move as one organism, driven by a rhythmic engine. Movement patterns appear and vanish again, like unstable equilibriums.
A beam of light. The new human. A futuristic dawn. Hope ordered by artificial intelligence. What do we leave behind, what disappears with the chaos?
